School clinics are open Monday – Friday from 8am to 4pm during normal school days.
Many children in the South Bronx have limited access to quality health care because of geographical, financial or other barriers. Our school-based health programs provide comprehensive primary health care to five local elementary, middle and senior high schools.
UHP’s school-based health programs are available to all students regardless of their ability to pay.
Services include:
- Asthma screening, prevention and treatment
- Comprehensive physical health exam
- Immunizations
- Sports/camp/job/college physicals
- Alcohol and substance abuse prevention, screenings and referrals
- Behavioral health
- Health education
- Nutrition counseling
- First aid
- Medication administration
Students may be referred to any of Urban Health Plan’s health centers for specialty care or follow up for services not currently provided at the school-based health center.
